Press Reviews

Peruvian baritone Alex Alburqueque had a booming resonance fit for Mozart’s Commendatore."
Opera: Love Potion #1
Role: Belcore Washinton Post reviewThe Washington Post, 2011
The Peruvian singer showcases a rich baritone voice, but he wins over the audience hands down more for his inventive stand-up comedy and shameless interplay with the audience."
Opera: Le Cabaret de Carmen
Role: Escamillo DC Theatre Scene reviewDC Theatre Scene, 2020
Alex Alburqueque acts with his entire body – mining every moment for hidden comedy or pathos. He especially shines on his aria “Lovely Lady,” thriving on the tricky arpeggios that Mozart is so fond of."
